THE STRUCTURE OF PSYCHOLOGICAL READINESS OF MILITARY FOR ACTION IN EXTREME SITUATIONS
Abstract
This article presents the brief overview of the problem origins of psychological readiness for action in normal and extreme conditions; it describes the phenomenology of the category “psychological readiness of a person for action” in scientific research; it states the theoretical and methodological approaches to studying and defining the notion “psychological readiness of a person for action in extreme conditions”.
It is proved that in situations which cause stress, at the stage of resistance, human mobilize the will and desire to overcome unusual circumstances or an emergency. Individuals with sufficient or high level of development of adaptive- willed component (the resilience to stress or the adaptation to difficult conditions) can effectively solve problems in extreme situations.
It is determined that psychological readiness of the military depends on the peculiarities of their nervous system, life experience, professional knowledge and skills, motivation and other special features of the individual. It has been discovered that the behavior of military in extreme situations is determined by the level of their stress resistance.
